Rep Power: 25 | This is to Michael Chunn. Bruce says you hacked his site and has banned you. I am not wanting to get involved in whatever you two have going but I am curious if you hacked his site. Jacking around playfully with each other is one thing, just boys will be boys. Hacking into a site seems a bit much and a pretty serious charge by him. What is your side of the deal? Just wondering. |

Rich,Thanks for your help with TanTalk. As always Bruce is always trying to stir the pot and turn anyone against me that he can. I posted a reply to him on his site about what you mentioned. Here's what happened. I posted a message pretending to have run a HTML page with a meta tag that would cause his counter to bump up by one every second. I posted the code inside my message for people to see the code. The bullentin board will all you to put code inside code statements. See the following or click on [b]*UBB code is ON[b] when you post a new message and you will see syntax of how to form this message:Code:this is some sample code Well, the problem came about because his board has a bug and the code inserted was interpreted instead of begin displayed.Michael

Rep Power: 0 | We erased your post, but the code is STILL active, and the site registered 133,000 pageviews yesterday and is still running out of control. I have emailed the counter people to ask them to help. There is no "bug" in our software, insert the SAME code into your site and watch the error happen, we use the same software, then STOP the code after enabling, if you can diagnose it, email me the solution . We certainly are NOT AMUSED at the code hacking on our site.We are certainly "not stirring the pot" as you so callusly put it, but working hard to unravel a mess you made on our board with your juvenile attempt to insert unwanted code to disrupt the orderly flow of information on our site. Bruce,If that code did actually cause a run-away on your counter. Which it should have not. I would do the following:Create a new counter with superstatsSet the new counter at 780,000 ( or whatever )Edit you UBB code in the general settings to use the new counter nameDelete the old counter in super statsThis will give you a new counter and any references to the old would be broke once you delete it.Michael
