Sharing/Expiring Packages - tanTALK

Do you recommend that couples/family's share sessions or packages? And do you have expiration dates on your packages/sessions?

No..you are losing money. If you feel the need/generous, then offer one time family/friend discounts on purchasing packages with a 30 day limitation.

No sharing. I just don't see any reason. I have a 5 Session package that expires in 3 months, and 10 Sessions expire in 6 months.

We absolutely want our clients to share their packages. Daughters burn through Mom's points like nobody's business and then Mom buys more. Am I missing something here?

We sell groups of tans, a better bargain than buying singles and can be shared. I used to have no expiration date which was a great selling point for people buying singles. After about 7 years I had quite a few packages(100s) for people who hadn't tanned in years, people come and go. Now with the 5 year expiration i am able to keep it between 300-400 packages.

At that point i started expiring those type of packages in 5 years. I have been selling singles, groups of sessions and monthly for 17 years. Would you rather sell a $25 session and not come back or x amount of tans for $125 and they never come back. The hook is that they have a long time to use them. If they do great if not that's ok too.

Packages that don't expire are not a good idea. From what you are saying it sounds like you may not have a social media or email program that keeps you in touch with your tanners. You want tanners to use what you sell them and motivate their tanning routine.

Steve I have been in the biz long enough to remember that you were the sales manager of a bed maker in Dallas that has been long gone, let me guess because you left. Don't worry, my price structure is as such that everything I sell is profitable.

If I wanted to be like everyone else than my biz model would not make my store unique.
