Re: Dealing with EFT's Chargebacks

It won't matter the credit card companies still side with the customer.... They want you to go through the court system.. I'd rather they tell that to the customer...!

Re: Dealing with EFT's Chargebacks

We have been challenged many times and never lost. Our signed agreement says that customer MUST cancel in person and retain the cancel receipt in order to quit. The customer never has the receipt because they did not cancel. Period. Always results in a win but it is still BS to deal with.

Curious which processing company MMurra and SunCity use? Might be worth switching to the same one as MMurra.

We have been with Merchant services (they were the worst) Heartland Payment systems, & we just switched to Cayan (yet to have one from them yet)

Re: Dealing with EFT's Chargebacks

We require a 30 day notice on the month they want to cancel and must come in and sign we don't have a cancellation fee or anything. We do have a $15 late fee and and if they want to freeze there account for the months their not tanning we do have a $10 a month freeze they can do up to 3 months. If they have proof we write the fee off if not they must pay the fee and their membership pricing. We also keep charging it to there account each month if they don't pay or bring in a statement. If they come in and tan must have to pay the fee before tanning.

Re: Dealing with EFT's Chargebacks

I have had the CC company send me the same notification that the client is fighting a charge on their CC that they cancelled. They ask for my proof. I sent them my contract that they had signed and requested that they send proof of cancellation as they would receive a copy. Mine also states cancellations must be done in person.

Never has the CC company charged back in favour of the client. It's all in the wording of your contract. If you are being charged back, something is missing from your contract that will make it full proof.

You may think it's bullet proof, but it obviously isn't.

In the end, the best thing i ever did was drop EFT and move to packages only. I ended up increasing sales by 35% in the first year after i dropped EFT. Best thing i ever did.
