For sure Din. I could even understand a level 4, but level 6? Come on!

Re: My competition is so stupid...

There was a day when salons got away with claiming "out of control levels" with there equipment. Level 6, 8, 10....That is done. any intelligent salon in there area that explains legitimate tanning "levels" to customers puts an end to it. And that is good.

Re: My competition is so stupid...

A couple months ago a hair salon in town added a BRAVO and used social media telling everyone it was a high pressure bed. I didn't worry about it but chuckled to myself. The problem with salons putting in beds is they aren't tanning salons so do not know the business. It wasn't until I heard a radio advertisement (while I was at the radio station doing my own radio ad) that she again advertises as high pressure. So, I decided it was time to drop her a very cordial note via social media. I included a link to a site that shows and describes the differences between low and high pressure beds. I went on to tell her that the easiest way to tell between the two is if your bed has long, fluorescent bulbs, it is NOT high pressure. Well, needless to say, she didn't take too kindly to, in her words, "medaling in her business". She doesn't do much business as her hours are horrible but I didn't want to lose a single customer due to the falsely representing her bed. She has, however, stopped the false advertising.

I agree I think numbering levels is a big mistake and very misleading. Many believe that every different system in a salon is a different level. As an operator it is important to educate yourself on equipment in general so you can better understand where to place your equipment in your levels and create clear separation between levels.
