Re: Pay Off

My market is still way oversaturated, plus the gyms that moved in that offer tanning. *sigh*

Although, I think my demo is alot different than yours.

I am sorry to hear your numbers are down. maybe think about making a few changes. When numbers are down and you do nothing to change that trend, they wile likely continue to decline. At some point they decline so much that you can't survive.
So if someones sales increase and they didn't change anything how do you explain that? Their sales should have declined if they didn't make any changes.

There is more activity on the forum, because salons have no business...slow work and boredom drives one here.

Why are we here?

It may be that you are not taking advantage in a meaningful way todays methods of reaching tanners and engaging them. Email, social media and text becomes very important when properly utilized. Creating a great product and salon structure is only a part of the formula for success.

It has been very telling the fate of this industry. Ten years ago, the local metro yellow pages had a column of salons. Today, a select 4 or 5...and I can bet when the 2016 books are published, that # will be half.
Yes there was a time when there was a tanning salon on every corner or at least businesses that called themselves a tanning salon because they had a bed or 2. Tanning salons must be much more than that to be successful in todays market. This is why there are less salons. There will always be tanning salons, some successful others not. the difference is approach to the business.
I am very sorry that so many of you are not doing well. What are you really doing about it? If you are doing little or nothing to change that trend you can see where that has gotten you.

Is there a secret formula for success? No secret, however there is a formula. It does require salon evaluation including your level of effort and identifying things that you are not doing or are doing wrong.

I want those operators out there to not be discouraged by the few on these sites that are so negative in there post. I see success in many salons that are not willing to give up on there business. Big chains and small operators alike.

I just can't make myself deliver a negative message just because a few here want me to.

Lets hear from some of those that are doing well.

Perfect example of change. Who picks up a phone book to look for a tanning salon. Things have changed.

I can pull a demographic report for you if you would like to look at your market.

If you did nothing different and sales increased it is important to pull reports to find out exactly where those increases came from and expand on that success by additional effort for those packages and product sales. It is just as important to identify why something did well.
