Each one of us gives input and responses from how we see and experience the industry. For example, if my salon was performing very poorly my responses would show by being negative and blaming everything on the tanning scare or the shrinking industry. If my salon was doing awesome my responses would be very positive helping others and NOT being negative all the time.

I'm not arguing whether some salons are struggling or not, rather that the first step to moving forward is admitting it.

I have been doing this tanning thing for 23 years. I have been the same guy the whole time. I have been through good times and bad. I have found ways to make money in the industry regardless of the conditions in the industry or the economy.

The kind of person that you are describing would be uninformed, or not knowledgeable. I am neither.

Re: EFT Pricing

Who else has an "M" here? I picked up an Masters in Counseling (leading to Licensed Professional Counselor), to go with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration / Economics. And I'm 30 years in the tanning industry!!

Re: EFT Pricing

We have just opened and are doing very well so far. We are offering $9.99/mo Mon - Fri 10am to 4pm and this has been selling very well. We are busy always during the day. We now have to focus on the evening and weekend at $18.88/mo. For those of you that think you can not make money at this price there are a lot of factors. We got into our salon with 9 beds and 2 stand ups for nothing. We had to do some maintenance but the beds are sunvision 24s and 28le beds and sundome stand ups. One of our other ways to make money is by selling a lot of lotion. We are at about 45% sales of lotions and accessories the way we are doing this is by selling discounted lotions. Our lotion prices range from as low as $10 ( 65% gross profit) have some that are $25 (87% gross profit) We look for the weekly deals and do not sell too much of the JWOWW and Snooki but even these are at about 50% off retail and we still profit 50%. EFTs are important but selling lotions is key. We offer a weekly deal and sell a lot of this. A lot of our lotions they do not see at our competitors but when they see that Snooki and JWOWW is at 50% of our competitors they want to buy and stay with us.

Re: EFT Pricing

I choose the $15-20 EFT's, because we have a but load of members who come in and use our 19.95 EFT and they love it. Are highest is sitting at about $78 per month cause you can tan unlimited in our HP bed, upgrades and base beds.

Re: EFT Pricing

An important factor with EFT to cut failed drafts, eliminate mistakes and save on cc fees, only draft from checking accounts, no credit card or debit card drafts.
