They are not swatting us around this time folks, they are going for the jugular. Regardless of your ITA views in the past, doesn't it make sense to have someone advocating for your biz in ways that we as individuals can't? And on simpler terms: -Kooky having a place to stand around with thumb up butt=good. -Kooky not having a place to stand around with thumb up butt=bad. Just kidding Kooky, wouldn't tease ya if we didn't love ya!

I've lost track of the number of times I've heard ITA or ASA say 'We have ______________ happening next month' or 'We've got researchers working on studies that will be released in just __ months that will be game changing.' Here's my commitment: The day you (1) actually make headlines in the mass media that have an impact on public attitudes toward indoor tanning and (2) stop your idiotic support of under 18 bans, I will send you $1000 from each of my salons. The political climate has changed. People are sick of government overreach. There is a huge opportunity now to turn the anti-tanning tide around. Show me your value. I'll show you my money. Rep Power: 22 | Re: The day the music died... You just put the cart before the horse! Show me your money and we will show you the value. The ITA just successfully navigated the FDA Class II medical device change. You should be on you knees begging to give the ITA money. The outcome could have been 10 times worse. People with attitudes like you is why the industry is so weak. Stop looking for reasons to not get involved give your time and money and begin to make a difference! You want to see the ITA make changes well changes cost money so either donate or shut up. Seriously who are you to say you will only give money if you see change! If you see change we won't need your money because we must have gotten it from someone who cares about this industry. Last edited by Robert K; 11-14-2014 at 08:21 AM. |

Send even $100/salon now. 10% of what you said you would do if you get your way. "Make headlines in mass media to impact public attitude toward indoor tanning". Really? Work locally. That is a MUCH easier goal to accomplish from bottom up than top down! - Have Smart Tan materials in your salon and in your marketing. - Work with other salons in your market to do the same. - Make sure your staff is well educated - you would be amazed how many salons are staffed by people who do NOT tan or who repeat myths like can't tan while pregnant, some tanning is "safer", etc etc The "political climate" has not changed on a dime. 36% of people eligible voted. Many of those made uneducated votes, following party lines, voting out incumbents across the board, etc. And many of those elected have their OWN agendas - which are INFLUENCED by organizations like the ITA - IF they can get an audience! Lobbyists get audiences... Read the article. This is an 8 of 10 or 11 of 10. This isn't the time to point fingers about what happened before or didn't happen before. Make a change TODAY.

Does the name Rob Quin ring a bell Robert ? I was recently asked to sell or there were other ways of getting rid of my store. How much would you like me donate Robert ? ITA does not give a hoot for the small salon. MY opinion.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: The day the music died... My point to the shut up is very simple. If you are not part of the solution then get out of the way. We as an industry need to get involved. If you want to sit on the sidelines that is up to you but don't tell us what to do or how to do it. |
