Super glad it was at a gym, but this could effect our industry as a whole.

Peeps tanning in any bed at any location are gonna be worried about their dolphin smooth butts being caught on camera.

Don't get this creeper crap. I don't want to know what half of my customers are doing in that room...seriously. I see what people do in the open and that's bad enough sometimes.

No doubt Crystal, yuk.

We have open top rooms for heat modulation.

We don't allow any maintenance involving ladders during open hours, or even changing clocks, etc. don't want customers getting skitish.

Now would be a good time for all salon owners to take a look around their own space to make sure there are no surprises.

We have a BIGGGGG spot light that we use to clean the walls, behind the beds, and when we take the beds apart. This is done all the time and devices that don't belong would be found and reported to me. I personally tan in every bed to ensure functionality, appearance, ways to improve, and look for things that do not belong.

These duties are rotated amongst workers and are NEVER left to just one person to think they could get away with placing a recording device.

Behind beds vacuumed monthly
Walls cleaned weekly
Beds disassembled as needed

from what I understand those tanning beds are rather hands off by the staff at the gym. The Planet Fitness in our town has a spray bottle and "rag" next to the tanning booth. Besides the fact that you need a vaccination just reading that last sentence, those beds are unattended from what I can tell. If you're doing regular maintenance and tanning with your machines you should be just fine. This is a pure case of negligence!
