When you say $6 and $9 do you mean that's what your salon took in on those days? Your gross was $6 and $9?

I did offer the 2 week unlimited for Halloween and I got a handful of college students to buy it. I always give them 10% discount on regular prices so I have them 5% off the 2 week unlimited.

1/2 OFF singles on the weekends? It wouldn't work in my salon. It would devalue my business too much. I have a 5 level salon with singles ranging from $10-$35. I would much rather have them pay $10Mon-Sun for a 3kW level 1 then devalue my 27kW $35 High Pressure to $17.50... after HP electrical costs and HP lamps, its not worth it. And my HP beds are so good that I wouldn't see that customer as much.

My package customers are smart... eventually they would figure out that for $17.50 a HP on the weekends, there's no need to spend a big chunk of $$ on a tanning package anymore if they can just come in on the weekends and pay $17.50. This would hurt our ability to sell big $$ packages. Now, if you think 1/2 price singles won't sway your regular package customers from spending more $$ and only increase single visit revenue then I guess that depends on the transparency of your pricing structure/menu board layout and the way you sell tanning packages...

What I could see working is marketing 1/2 price singles during slow season as outside coupons during your slower months.

All in all, I think every salon is very different. What works for one salon doesn't always work for another. If there was one set way to do things that works 100% of the time, then every salon would be a great success right?? But we know that isn't the case.

Not giving it away. Example. upgrade from level one to level two is normally $20. The deal would be upgrade to the next level until the end of the year for $20. That gives you upgrade to the next level for Nov and Dec. You can make the offer up grading as many levels as you like by calculating the up grade for each level at a 50% discount. It is a great promotion and gets tanners upgrading that don not normally. It also conditions them for wanting upgrades during the busy season.
