We use our facebook page to inform and offer our clients deals. Mainly we use it to get them to generate new leads. We're currently gaining new clients at busy season rates now. We've found that this leads to increased sales even in slow season at an expediential rate. We have both a Friends/Personal & Like/Business pages and it can get confusing at times. If we could do it all over again we would probably only do the like page. After you get a lot of likes facebooks opens more and more options to you as a business that are not available to you as friend/personal page. Lastly, do not be afraid to try new stuff. There are lots of great ideas on this site (some is hidden in the arguing) and the key to marketing is having LONGTERM plan. Your clients do not like chaos. Our plan is consistent but NOT predictable. For example, we never do FTW or give free first tan or buy _____ and get free tanning for a year. We have tshirt Thursday that offers our clients something for wearing our tshirt in the store (advertising for us) that day. Our Refer a Friend program offers our current clients $25 to bring in new to us clients. Throughout the year we offer deals appropriate for the season like 1 week of level 2 for $10 or 1 month of level 3 for $65. I really like this website below. If you sign up for their newsletter, they will send a lot of useful information to help. http://cdn2.hubspot.net/hub/53/offer...ays/ebook.html |

It was a major hassle and everytime FB did an update, you lost them and had to start all over. We switched to "like" and do no more than once p/week. I think anymore than that is when peeps get rid of it as spam. Oh, and always offering something beneficial to the client keeps them interested in and constantly growing.

Rep Power: 12 | Re: FaceBook I need to do more work on my page. I'm good at working on my giftshop page because I'm always getting in new inventory, but that's not the same for tanning. I do need to get myself moving. My radio ads seem to be working. If you want to see my space search for Bare Naked Tanning, Osceola, IA Personally, I get tired of being bombarded every day, all day from businesses I've "liked" II had to "unfollow" some of them due to the unending posts. I agree that 2-3 times a week is plenty. |

Rep Power: 12 | Re: FaceBook Yes, both share 1200 sq. ft. I'm the only place in town now to tan. 3 beds is good for our small town. My giftshop has really morphed into more of a boutique. I sell lots of jewelry, handbags, lotions/soaps, and am now getting into more and more fashion and sandals. |
