No UNDER 18 tanning?

I see Minnesota just passed that law effective August 1st. How many other states now have this age limit? I'm sure Wisconsin won't be far behind.

Re: No UNDER 18 tanning?

The under 18 law hasn't hurt me that much this year. Texas passed it last year. We focused on bringing back older clients. on top of this the 18 year old clients really don't bring in that much of an income. besides a possible upgrade every once and awhile they typically tan in level ones and buy no more than a $30 bottle. I see the 18 & up law as a way to eliminate the level one beds in my salon.

Right. While at the same time eliminating tomorrow's 21 - 35 year old bread and butter customers. Just keep on drinking that ASA kool-aid. You'll be gone before you can say Palm Beach Tan.

Ya'll better wake up and smell the coffee.

Look at the amount of tobacco users between the ages of 18-25 there's more now than there was before the minimum age was 18. Just because they cant tan in high school doesn't mean that they wont tan ever. PBT won't touch me nor will I allow anything like this to affect my salon. Yes there will be some uncalled for and unfair regulations however in this thread I was simply stating that the 1st year under the ban was not near as bad for us as I thought it would be. If it has hurt your store there may be more reasons than just a ban on underage tanning.
