Close your doors at 9 but if you are in before then do and spend as you please. I would think your staff has an evening checklist, cleaning and closing to perform anyway. |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: Last Tan: what's your policy? I closed last night. Had all the closing duties done and got out right at close. We get our closing done ahead of closing, so, it's not like we have more to do, after our actual closing time, just to sit and wait for a client that comes in a few minutes prior and tans for 15-20 minutes. It's been a long day and feels good to get out on time. I understand most of you that allow a client to do what they want....even if one minute prior to your closing time though. |

You say self service laundries are not in the customer service business. I'm sorry but you do not know what you are talking about. Laundries are in the customer service business and compete in exactly the same way tanning salons compete. Mark Last edited by mmurra; 06-10-2014 at 09:47 PM. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Last Tan: what's your policy? Mark tanning salons offer a personal service where a customers gets undressed and goes tanning. It is very personal. A self service laundry is where a customer goes to wash their laundry. Big difference. Yes they both need customer service but the level of service is very different. |

Most of my help let people tan if they are still open, and will stay late, other will close at 15 min before and that ok with me for , I look at it as the same people are late all the time, we all have family to go home to and that more important to me . Quality time is something we are not getting enough of, in this country. The store not going any were, we will be there for as long as the business making $$$. |

The problem with this is the lack of consistency. SOMEtimes a tanner can tan near closing. Other times they can't. How frustrating for the customers! Better to set it one way or the other and communicate as much. Every salon is free to set their own policies. Recognize that SOME customers will perceive SOME policies as more "customer friendly" than others. If they have a choice - and other salons do it differently - they may take their business elsewhere. | |
