My salon is now spray tanning only yet I do traditional tanning (UV) myself. I call a salon down the street from me and ask what HP they are running at that location (they have 3).

Her: “Um…. Well… we have mega, super and (I don’t even recall the last one).

Me: Well I guess what I am asking is what brand of HP do you offer at that location.

Her: Um… let me go look at it... we have the Ovation 6400.

Me: I am looking for the type that has just blue lights (make this as simple as I can)

Her: Ohhhh…. We do not have one of those here, just at our XXX location.



Side note: This salon of their 3 is on the “rich” side of town; why would they not have their top equipment over here too?

I might just buy that other salon that I mentioned in another thread and get back into UV after all.

And really, for the masses out there tanning, they are clueless too. It's all "tanning" which is why some salons cannot "sell" HP. It's ongoing education.

Very true Sunrise tan, I am not a typical tanner. I am also not "that guy”; when I come in. I tend to play dumb, I just needed a quick HP visit and did not want to drive to the other side of town.

My model is very similar to Rick’s Shine concept, although I did not even know about his set up when I did mine; it's kind of weird how comparable they are. He is much bigger... obviously

I do think my EFT set up is better. I change a few things last quarter to drive my average price per tan up.

It has been great, last peak season I was at 110%-120% capacity; this year will be a big issue.

I was in the process of getting bought out, but I think the buyer was unable to get funded. So I am behind the ball on expanding this year; but will open another location this year or expand… Unless Rick buys me out (Crickets).

My website is ugly, my mobile site is better. So try to view it on a cell or pad, it will convert automatically.

I have new site built, but not up yet. Odd thing is, my older site was freakin’ awesome ($9,000 awesome, with a virtual I-pod and all); positive reviews from web developers everywhere but delivered almost no return. This ugly site delivers over 600 new clients a year. It SEOs better
