About the tanning bed ban in Australia

SunSmart gets stupid.

That is the title of my new post with an analysis of the Australian sunbed ban.

You can read it here: http://www.thetanningguru.com/tannin...ban-australia/

Comments are of course welcome, especially from Australian members.

Re: About the tanning bed ban in Australia

Did anyone hear the statement on CNBC that two states in the USA will ban tanning beds and lamps this year? I could swear that's what they said!

Sure-Getting legally stoned everyday for the rest of your life is perfectly OK. Children eating cookies laced with pot is fine. But teenagers getting in a tanning bed! Now that dangerous.

^^^it's ok if the government gets their cut. I still can't believe that any substance sucked into your lungs would have no ill effects.

Re: About the tanning bed ban in Australia

The reason pot is being legalized in the US is that there is someone being arrested every 36 seconds who smokes pot. The real issue that is wrong with pot is not that it is so much a health hazard, but that the people who use it are difficult to control. The government does not want pot, but they have become pragmatic about the use. The real danger surrounding pot is that good pot is like acid. It will immediately put you in a dreamlike state. Now tell me, how are you going to consistently drive on that? Then there is the issue of kids smoking pot.
I currently believe that the issue of banning tanning revolves around the expense of the side effects of tanning that the government believe that are there. A basel cell skin cancer operation that takes 2 minutes cost the government $2000 I am guessing. As for the pot they will be making money!
