Salon insurance

Hi guys, I am looking for information on what type of insurance do you all use? I'm taking over the tanning salon I also do massage therapy. My salon is in Michigan. As I start to shop for insurance I'd like to know what others are using? Thanks for any input. Tina

Re: Salon insurance

Got dummped by Thomco (Tan Pro), they no longer write tanning.
Tried to get a policy w/ Insurtec, failed... WTH... I have never in my life had such a hard time writting a policy.
Written by Craft in less than 10 min, for almost 1/2 of what Insurtec wanted.

I had insurance thru Insurtec last year... It was very expensive You need to be Smart Tan Certified.

We will be going down this road next year when our Thomco insurance policy ends. We had Insurtec before Thomco and that's all we have ever used. House, can you elaborate on the denial?

And can others describe their insurance? Do other carriers truly cover UV tanning?

Re: Salon insurance

When I say failed, I am referring to their underwriting process. I have never had so many issues trying to get binded. I was ready to send in the final few things they wanted when Craft called; said she could write my Thomco policy that day. She did and it was almost half of Insurtec's quote. Needless to say, I just went with that.

I like Chris (not who I got to work with this time), I have had Insurtec before, no complaints; they are great.

I am not sure why it was so difficult this time.

I opened last year and have InsurTec but wasn't required to be Smart Tan Certified.

Not required to be Smart Tan certified but they give you a discount.

Can I have the contact info for Craft? Currently, we have Insurtec and it seems the price keeps going up and going up
