Ok, we are about to go into our 3rd year and things are going well. We have added 4 beds in the last 18 mo and are currently looking to add a HP bed. After that, however, the question is should we open a new location or just keep expanding our existing one? Here is more on our situation:

Average 200 ppl on eft (this year 150 last).. Business is good

Not the best location but rent is amazingly cheap..

Small ish town (12,000) with no other comp. and the new location would be on the other side of town..

Currently have 9 rooms and room for about 15..

Older equipment that could stand to be upgraded in existing..

All equip and loans all paid up!! as of this month!!!! WOOOHOO!

Would you experienced salon owners expand your existing salon or open a new one? That's the question.

I would wait to see what the FDA rules it could change your equipment options for both ideas.

Congratulations as well! We just negotiated our second salon but I did take into consideration the potential FDA issues. :)

Good point.. I have my eye on what's going on, just hoping I won't have to deal with it. Either that or try and find a way to start a tanning bed re-certification company!! HA!
