How do you feel about professional teeth whitening in a salon?

So - I recently purchased a tanning salon with the hopes of adding teeth whitening to it. I figured this is almost a hand in hand type of business. If you want to be tan, you probably want your teeth white too, yes?

So I am preparing to add the service - chair, professional light, the whole shabang.

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this and if you had any luck with it? We are going to start with one.

I thought it would be a great added service. Profit is about $45 on a $60 treatment so could really boost sales if we can make a go of it.

Thoughts? And thanks!

Use the search and you'll find numerous threads on the subject. Some do well with it and other sell them here when they couldn't make a go of it or realized a big bed was a better investment.

You need to check with your local regulations & laws. Some areas you must be a dentist to offer such a service. I know many salons who have done very well with these, but it has declined over the past year for many.

If you are using a room for it, it is better used with a piece of equipment that will bring in more money. If using your lobby, peeps didnt like sitting there with their lips spread with all to see. I have it still in my salons, but it rarely gets booked unless on a super duper sale. Then it takes up my space I could be making more money in
