Thumbs up WOW WOW WOW, IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!!!

This business never ceases to amaze me. For the last two months, I thought I was on my deathbed, then September hits. Maybe it's my great marketing skills, lol-- or just maybe it's because the kids are back, but, so far, It is rocking. This past weekend was good, but yesterday was tanfastic. Haven't had a day like that since last March. I couldn't help but cheer, and had to tell the world.

Same thing happening here... except we have no students. Sales are definitely up from last year.

Ytd sales are way down here, but at least my optimism is being fed a little. January started this way, but died.

Re: WOW WOW WOW, IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!!!

Are you guys doing anything different this year from last? My salon is in a rural area, good EFT base that covers rent & utilities, lotion sales have dropped considerably and buying habits have changed (economy). Has anyone used the pay services on Facebook for reaching out past the standard "like it" business profile? we get a good return from our F/b time especially because we sell cloths & fashion accessories as well. I've been tempted to try the F/b ads but not sure if that is a good use of limited ad budget. Also who has a web site and does it really bring in business?

Question Re: WOW WOW WOW, IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!!!

Any of you have a web site? do you feel it brings in business?
Any one doing anything different this year from last? So far it sounds like all increases in business are atributted to more bodies coming in not necessarily people spending more money. Anyone using the extra Facebook functions (pay services) to reach new clients? We use the standard "like it" page and have a big following that does bring in business, thought about spending some money and reaching further. So has anyone had experience with that?

We do the standard facebook thing, and do get a lot of referrals from it. We do get a lot of friend requests, especially now that the college is back in town. We do our specials both on Facebook and our website www.parrotbaytanning.com

Re: WOW WOW WOW, IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!!!

We were down in June and July but up the rest of 2012 so far. September is starting off good- hope it keeps up! I am working a lot of the shifts while I rearrange my 'inherited' staff.

Website is very important I think miss me. Definately working for us and I have an out of the box website until I can afford something more customized. And get registered with all the search engines.

I am doing a lot of low cost things to get our name and services out. Am hoping for a wow, wow, wow year :)
