The objective if possible is to not go negative for any month. And that is hard to do. That is where good overhead expense management comes in. Anyone can be profitable in March and April. If your fixed costs do not allow you to be at or above monthly break even, for this time period, then your business model is messed up. |

My energy bill was ALOT higher due to the hot weather in August and Sept, even though I had alot less tanners (do to the hot weather I'm guessing). Snow removal can be really expensive for us too. My first year in March had some days had to get plowed 3-4 times at $50. each visit. |

No contracts or anything they are just trying to get people to do an eft contract after the 100 days. Oh an each time you tan you are entered to win $1000 drawing each week. After the 100 days you must do an eft because that's all they offer. They just are really aggressive at selling lotions and upgrades. I have customers that stop in to buy lotion from me and say they will be back after the 100 days because they refuse to do the eft but wow makes it hard to compete I'm just happy their nearest location is 5 miles from my salon. |

We offer EFT memberships, but also sessions, monthly packages and even social media specials. The issues are two fold - First people will flock to the new thing like a moth to a flame. Second, there is very little customer loyalty. You could offer to carry your customers in from their cars and there would be still some that go to the new place. |
