Rep Power: 0 | Re: Was July Bad? Summer promo ideas? June was rough, still ahead of last year but not the increase we have been experiencing. July was about the same as far as money but our sessions were down. It was extremely hot but i also know I relaxed a bit in June as far as marketing. Mid July I ramped up again and the last week of July and so far in August are right back up there so I learned... I can never relax like that again LOL new biz owner faux paus :( I looked back at what we have done tht has gotten a good ROI and have redone my plan through the end of the year knowing I will readjust again before then. I wish I could commit more to mailings but for now I have Facebook, website, emails, sidewalk sign that is actually catching people's eye, having windows grafitti painted every 6-8 weeks keeps them looking, our referral program, passing out info around the neighborhood, having girls pass out and carry cards with them to hand out (they are get the word out that they are airbrush techs too), and shamelessly leaving cards with a mini special on the back at restaurants, bars, nail salon, etc... This is a lot of work but I love what I do so it doesn't seem like work all the time. And it helps I can read years worth of postings to get new ideas =) and saves me from making the same mistake with some things.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Was July Bad? Summer promo ideas? Slow day yesterday, and we tanned 32 ppls, but we are only $500 away from matching our total July sales. The last half of August, does pick up for us because the college kids are back in town looking around. Our $3 tans will knock their socks off. lol |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Was July Bad? Summer promo ideas? Facebook and sandwich board sidewalk sign. As we get closer to September, we're going to do newspaper and radio ads. We have a credit for radio advertising, or else we wouldn't spend the money on this type of advertising. I think this $3 tan is going to be big, nobody in town even comes close to this price. If you want to be our friend on FB go to parrot bay. Last edited by parrot head; 08-09-2012 at 12:38 PM. Reason: add |
