^^^^I've got deep pockets, because the video business was so good to me for 15 years. lol (Ask Movieking) I'm surviving off those profits, and I'm stubborn. It's hard for me to throw in the towel, and I have very low overhead. If one thing doesn't work, I'll try another, like $3 tans.

But why take that beating? Never stay in business if business is bad. Business is just what we do to make money and you're not making money.

Steve is right, you never need to have a 0 day. A few Sundays back I had anextra staff member in to do a deep cleaning with me, then I felt kinda lazy, so by noon I knew wasn't going to go in that sunday.

So I had an extra employee and I didn't want to pay an her to hang out all day, so I sent a text for $9 spray tan , just to keep the girls busy. They sold over $1800 in 6 hrs. And we got 20 new customers from it.

Parrot Head - What was the name of the video biz? My husband was in the video biz for years and years.... It was very profitable!!!

kookyguy...can you explain further? I'm sure you didn't get 180 spray tans , (or did you?). Were people allowed to buy and use the special at another time, or buy more than one? And were these airbrush , booth, or either? Thanks!!!

It was called VIDEO BIZ, and it was cash cow.

Parrot Head - My husband was partner and COO for Video City Inc. in California. Had 140 locations and took over West Coast Video (Philly), but was too late to save WCV. Glad you got out while the Going was Good!

No we didn't do 180 spray tans . People that came in for the $9 spray bought other packages, they also told enough of their friends that we got 20 new people that day and many of them bought packages as well.

Every day of the year we have some sort of UV, Spray and lotion sale going on. The point is you must get cats to come in the door, nothing can happen until you get them in the door.

Oh, we have a Versa Spa.

I know a couple people who would still like to get paid for work they did for Video City.
