Arrow Exhaust cones on stand-ups + AC issue

Hi
I just installed the new sun capsule eclipse 250 and the unit came with an fan exhaust cone that reaches into my drop ceiling. Not only is it much quieter but the unit doesn't make the store store hot, its wonderful.

I have 3 other stand-ups in the store and when I have them all running my 2 AC units cant keep up and it starts to get hot. So I decided to get some material and create the exhaust cones for the 3 units.
Has anyone else did this? If so what material did you use, and where did you get it?

I'm thinking of ordering this: http://www.professionalplastics.com/...LYSTYRENESHEET

I'm also installing a 24 inch exhaust fan on the roof next week to get the trapped hot air between the ceiling and the roof.

I noticed today that my 2 HVAC units are 5 tons each, and its not enough lately(I thought that one was 5 ton and the other was 9 ton). So if this exhaust solution doesn't work well I think I'm going to install a 3 ton mini-split ductless sytem with 2-3 zones. Have anyone else install these units?

btw you think the exhaust cones on the stand-ups with exhaust roof fan will be adequate enough, that I wont need to install anything else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DK

Re: Exhaust cones on stand-ups + AC issue

...I have been venting my stand-ups into my drop ceilings for over 15 years. The absolute best product is called a sona-tube. It is a heavy duty paper composite used for pouring concrete footings. They are line with a synthetic material so there is no fire issue and they fit right over the fan assembly of the stand-up. They are light and paint-able....although I have covered mine in roofing copper. They come in various lengths but I have bought a twelve footer and with a circular saw, I have cut 3 vents of 4 feet each.
You have to find a building supply house, home depot doesn't carry them.

This is what you use for Suncapsules. FRP panel at Home Depot. Rip the sheet to the height of your standup to the bottom of the drop ceiling then mark it at 91" and roll into a tube then use machine screws to seam together. Hide seam in the back. Butt up to drop ceiling and cut the tiles 1" smaller than the opening so you can't see the gap. The tube does not need to line up with a full tile. The grid holds it in place.

Here is the link for the exact product:

Here is an example:
