Rep Power: 0 ![]() | I just opened up a salon and it's running about 2 months now, and most of the beds and booths new bulbs have about 30hours by now. They are all running at 245v-248v!!! ( running voltage ) and no buck booster. I have heartland bed, hollywood HT-60,ht-54, solux40.3 and sunscape stand up. what's going to happen short and long term? what should I be looking out for? I did not put in a buck booster because I was told it will tan better and will not affect most of the equipments and maybe the sunscape only. should I be worry? thanks |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | Re: higher voltage running 245v-248v I'd say a lot depends on what kind of equipment you have. Higher voltage might damage beds known to made cheaply. Some of the off brands, like older ETS beds were just made with cheaper components, and would have a melt down with voltage over 240V. KBL, Ergo, and Soltron, among others, run just fine with voltage as high as 245V. When I did my buildout 8 years ago, I had the option of coming in with 208V or fluctuating 3 phase delta running between 240V and 245V. After checking with the Soltron technical experts, We decided it was alright to go with the higher voltage. I saved over $3000 by not having top buy boosters to up my voltage. Unless things suddenly go to heck because of this, I'm entirely happy with my decision. |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | Re: higher voltage running 245v-248v You want to meter your new lamps upon install. You need to have a baseline, when new, to determine when your lamps are 10%, 20% and 30% used. Hold your meter about the same distance from the acrylic as a body would lay. About a foot from the top and right on the acrylic on the bottom. measure in the middle of the lamps. What meters are you using? |
