I use Clockwatch. It's password protected and logs whenever someone tries to adjust the date or time.

If so - why?

If not - why not?

For those that do - what sort of things have you "caught" staff or customers doing?
If you combine camers with a procedure of inventorying lotions every shift and keeping inventory not on the shelf locked up. You can identify shrinkage immediately after it happens and this will also prevent employee shrinkage.

No but you can see them putting money into their pocket instead of the drawer. If the camera is positioned to view the computer and cash drawer and you inform your staff that you are watching for theft and you will prosecute as a part of training and disclosure, you will have less theft. In fact as soon as you put cameras in, income will increase.

They did it in front of cameras...I fired 5 employees in 5 years for theft. They could even see themselves on the cameras. You cant stop everything

Re: Cameras in the salon

We put camera up for theft from customers.
One on lotion and another at counter /register area.

Stopped the lotion theft, now they are stealing toilet paper!
Only cause she eats the dang on toilet paper! Stupid fetish!

Re: Cameras in the salon

We have a small boutique in the front of our salon, so we have cameras watching that. I have caught one theft (BleachBright teeth whitener) and an employee making out with her boyfriend in between customers.

Re: Cameras in the salon

We have seen / caught just about everything. Cannot imagine not having cameras. We had a recent customer claim she left her wedding ring in the tanning room. Called police..... No ring on hand when we checked the CCTV. On and on and on.... Mark

Re: Cameras in the salon

I had a customer walk in with a bag and tan in a bed. When I went to clean the bed, they had taken out an added fan I had on the end of the bed, and switched it out with a similar, but older off brand fan. It was only a $3.00 cheaper fan if bought new at the store. People will steal ANYTHING. Well, at least they replaced it!!!

Re: Cameras in the salon

I had a similar situation as Mark when a customer swore she left her Gucci sunglasses in the room. The cameras showed them in her hand as she walked out the door.
