How many of you, open early morning, like say 7:00 AM? How many have tried it, and then went back to regular hours. I figure I could pickup some additional business from people getting done work @ 7:00 and having people tan before work and school. This would be another one-up on the competition also.

I use to open at 6am from mid march thru may. Did fairly well, had a few drunks.
I stoped doing it when are largest factory skipped town.

We have quite a few companies in and around town that have 3rd shifts. In the past, I've been asked, "why don't you open early?" I think that I"m going to give it a shot, because I'm up at 5:30 am every morning anyway. Instead of sitting on the computer and drinking coffee at home, I might just as well do it at the salon, and make some money.

if you are up that early more or less doing nothing at home, I def would give it a try for the season. Couldnt hurt. I tried to do 6am-10pm when I bought my salon and didnt have the traffic for it, even being next to a 24 hour gym. BUT I didnt stick it out an entire season.

i do 10am til 8pm is all...myself, my family and my employee's all have lives as a result. :)

less hours...less employee's....less headaches :)

If you have a lot of places with 3rd shifts - go for it. No employees tho.

I opened up at 7am for awhile. Nobody came in, so we went back to opening at 9am.

I also work 70 hours a week and don't need to would 80.

WE OPEN AT 8:00 AM ALL YEAR LONG. THE CUSTOMERS LOVE IT. ON REALLY COLD, BAD WEATHER MORNINGS SOMETIMES IT'S 8:45 BEFORE ANYONE COMES IN. I AM THE ONLY SALON IN MY AREA THAT OPENS THAT EARLY & SOME PEOPLE LOVE TO COME IN BEFORE WORK. TRY IT, IT WONT HURT ANYTHING.
