Unhappy cracked acrylic from large tanner

I had a lady come in today that was 350-400 lbs who wanted to tan for her psoriasis. When she left, the bench acrylic was cracked in the center, where the metal support is. Is there a wt limit on the beds? I bought the bed used, so I have no idea how old it is either.

I think they typically say 250lbs. I know I've had larger customers though. Sometimes the problem is not distributing weight evenly.

Re: cracked acrylic from large tanner

An acrylic can crack sometimes just from an unlucky way that a person goes to get in or out of the bed.

But 350-400 lbs would be over the weight limit for pretty much any bed in the industry (the Matrix L33 acrylic that is about 5 times thicker than a regular one says 350 limit).

Have her use the standup. They usually have the highest UVB % anyway (to drive the tan time down) and that is best for psoriasis.

Re: cracked acrylic from large tanner

if it is a bed where the top and bottom acrylic are interchangeable, switch it to the top until you can get in a replacement.
