I say that, not becuse I am a fan (I am not), but Ergo has a huge disty in Australia and has the market pretty well satuated with their (high-end) equipment. They have a huge following..as you may know, Aussies, like Europeans, take their tanning seriously. They are very knowledgeable to the equipment they use. So, I would look at UWE..however, expensive to ship..I do not believe they have a distributor..or..KBL, also costly, do not believe they have a foot down under either. http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.../itemId/331593 http://www.jkergoline.com.au/content...an_profile.htm Good luck! |

Rep Power: 25 | Re: Want to start a Tanning Salone business NEW Dragan - Since you are new to the site, you probably don't realize TanU01 has been in the industry for 10-20 years, on this site since probably it's inception and his post was just a short way of saying "there is a TREMENDOUS amount of information here on this site that you should spend weeks and weeks going through and then come back and ask some more specific questions - if you are even still interested". As a few hints: 1. There are only a handful of international posters on this site - and not many for AUS, so our ability to give you meaningful insight into the business climate for tanning in your area is probably weak at best. 2. That said, there is certainly as much or more "sunscare" and anti-tanning attitude in AUS as there is in the US. And maybe more legislation - current or pending. Make sure you know what regulations are being considered there to curb tanning and impact the industry 3. Equipment options - and prices - are different there than in the US. You will have fewer choices and potentially less negotiating room than US salon owners. In addition, most on this site won't know much about the different distributors in your area, their reputations, etc Still - if you want to get some general information about opening a business in tanning, there is plenty of that here. And you might want to try to search for other members from Australia (esp Sidney) or start some threads about that and try to find some folks to network with and ask more questions of locally. Good luck! |
