Question Shipping Tanning Beds

I am wanting to buy some tanning beds that are about 16 hours away.

Does anyone know a good shipping company? Any advise on the matter would be much appreciated!

Re: Shipping Tanning Beds

That was my first thought but once you factor in gas & a hotel it isn't quite as appealing. It would be much cheaper to ship... if I could figure out how.

A moving company is usually the safest bet. Will cost quite a bit more than traditional trucking company, however they usually take good care of what they move.

Re: Shipping Tanning Beds

Are they on pallets ready to ship or do they need to be packed up?

Unless you talk to someone who understands truly what fragile means, you're about better off to do it yourself. Especially if you're depending on someone on the other end to put them on pallets and all the other packing. We had a 14hr drive to get a bed once and took an extra day for some sight seeing and made it a little more tolerable.

Re: Shipping Tanning Beds

I agree w/the doing it yourself. I've tried USHIP.com & it's usually not timely waiting to get someone to bid on it and usually you need it now, or the seller needs it outta there now.

I'm dependent upon getting them package and shipped to me due to my location and have some serious horror stories.

One sunbed packing company I used just nailed plywood around the bed, so it definitely got hammered. Another time, a company took the foot fans off and taped the cord on the bench acrylic, so it slid around and completely demolished them. It's really worth it to do it yourself if you can b/c you actually care about the equipment. Good luck!
