Red face Question about the overhead costs

ok, I'm doing some more research because knowledge is power and I am going to be opening a tanning salon in the near future. I'm hoping to be ready in about 6 months. I'm having a hard time finding out what the over head costs run a month approx. Like PGE ect. Any light you can shed would be great!

Also What are the favorite beds of customers? And is it better to buy used or new? I have cash and hate payments but don't want to spend all my saving either.

Thank you!!

Re: Question about the overhead costs

PG&E will depend on the beds you bring in, how big the salon is, how busy the salon gets etc. There is a fairly new salon in Concord you could check out, they have Ergoline beds. Here is a link to their site http://www.mytanningcompany.com/

If you are concerned about how much your electric bill is going to be, obviously, you are not financially prepared to open/compete.
It takes 300-500k to open and sustain for a 12 month period on average. Probably more in CA.
Looking @ the website for the salon linked inthe other reply, you need more than that to remain competitive. They have top of the salon equipment...and it ain't cheap to operate.

Your very first mistake would be to open in six months. You already missed the boat this year, so study more, and open next January. Buy used in July, and you could save 75% over new. Don't rush into this business with eyes closed, because it could be an eye opening experience real quick..
