24/7 Tanning How it Works... - tanTALK

I was going to attach this as a reply to the open thread on IBeach 24/7. I decided to start it anew for better exposure.
How the 24/7 concept works (or at least from my experience, which is limited)

They 'skate' around the law of having an attendant present by being licensed as a 'private club'..like gyms. Being private (membership only) takes it away from the fine line of public/walk-in tanning. It becomes the same as if you had a home unit in your basement, and no attendant needed

You tan by using a personal 'pin' code. It can not be used again for 24 hours preventing 'multi tan use'. The beds turn on by your code. One time use only, until 24 hr cycles.

You are responsible to clean beds prior and after use. When you think about it, most people do anyway. Just like with gyms, it is the responsibility of each equipment user to leave it clean for the next.
Members are encouraged to report any beds not found clean. A computer search will show who used it last..enough complaints, you are cancelled, lose money/membership.

Security is handled the same as 24/7 gyms. Use a PIN to enter, cameras around record 24/7.

Lotions available via vending machine..it works for videos..

Agree it will not work for everyone, tanner nor owner. However, it is new concept, a new competitor, new challanges that should not be taken lightly.

It reminds me when spray tanning was introduced. Salon owners felt threatened by it, yet it evolved into every salon as a nice fit.
I see 24/7 tanning evolving the same way. It is becoming as accepted as the gym concept.

AS I mentioned in an earlier post, the 24/7 gym near me has KBL 4500 beds. Good equipment, though no upgrade or HP, for the little bit of cost it is ALL most will settle for..and there is the threat.
