I am not sure how they are going to work in Texas because you can not have an unattended salon and you are not allowed to clean your own bed. It shows the the Texas salons are coming soon. Sec. 145.008. OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS. (a) A tanning facility shall have an operator present during operating hours. The operator must: (1) be sufficiently knowledgeable in the correct operation of the tanning devices used at the facility; (2) instruct, inform, and assist each customer in the proper use of the tanning devices; (3) complete and maintain records required by this chapter; and (4) explain or otherwise inform each customer initially using the tanning facility of: (A) the potential hazards of and protective measures necessary for ultraviolet radiation; (B) the requirement that protective eyewear be worn while using a tanning device; (C) the possibility of photosensitivity or of a photoallergic reaction to certain drugs, medicine, or other agents when a person is subjected to the sun or ultraviolet radiation; (D) the correlation between skin type and exposure time; (E) the maximum exposure time to the facility's devices; (F) the biological process of tanning; and (G) the dangers of and the necessity to avoid overexposure to ultraviolet radiation.

Rep Power: 22 | Re: I Beach Tan w/ 24/7 concept tanning ^^^^This is almost exactly the way the Wisconsin law reads, but as someone said all cliants have to be members. They skate the law and there's nothing the state will do about that. I formally filed a complaint with the state about Snap and Anytime fitness having unattended tanning. I'm not jumping on this bandwagon because of the conversion of my salon to 24/7 could not be justified. Besides, I'd have to get rid of my parrot (Buddy) which I've had for 24 years. Most likely, this fitness center right up the street from me is the one thinking about it. I think it's the only way they might survive. One of four fitness centers in our small town, and doing the worse. Last edited by parrot head; 01-11-2011 at 05:10 PM. |

It was sold and shortly after that converted to an iBeach. It is about 5 miles from us and not really a threat. The new salon will be competition for us. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: I Beach Tan w/ 24/7 concept tanning Yes it never fails; just when you think nobody would think about getting into tanning, they start a new concept (so to speak, around here), and take another piece of the pie. O' well, I'm a formidable competitive person, and I can play games if need be. One does what he has to do. I still think most people like attended salons, and someone they can talk to. Its just something we as old school salon owners must be aware of and may have to adjust to. |

What prevents any salon saying we are a club and now we do not have to follow any of the laws about tanning?
