Is anyone else DEAD??? I know it is slow season but this seems to be worse than last year. Anyone having that problem too? Man it makes for a long day...............

July just covered our expenses. August was better and Sept. seems to be even better.

we opened 3 weeks ago and are seeing 20-30 people daily now, the first 2 weeks were murder.... How long did it take for you all to get a good and steady volume of business in your salons?

We've been open a few months and a steady 20-30 people a day would be great.

Open a few years, and 20-30 people a day would be great. I'm in a college town and over 9000 students just returned, but they are not tanning. Word on the street is, "they have no money".

Parrot Head do you have any competition around you at all?? We are near a college and I have been wondering WHERE ARE ALL THE STUDENTS?? Usually by now they have come in and bought packages. IDK

^^^Other then a couple of fitness centers, hair salons, etc., I'm about the only show in town. Last September was terrible, but I thought it was because it was so hot. This month is starting slow, but I'm hoping after the kids become acclamated a little, it will pick up. I"m running some 100 day, for 100 dollar specials and I am selling some of those.

Things are going from bad to worse it seems. Been here since 9:am and only 1 tanner all day. This is just crazy!!! And I still have 5 and a half hours to go.

Same thing EVERY YEAR people... Did you do your research before you opened?? July, August, September, October and November are all crappy months in this industry. I suggest you use the time to "spiff up" your business.... repaint, repair, etc.. However, if you just opened..... well, all I can say is you opened at the worst time, and I hope you have some money saved..... People dont just pour in because you open a new salon... You need to spend some serious time AND money to promote your salon...
