Rep Power: 52 | Re: Red Light Therapy I think Red Light presents the same challenges as HP many years ago- it's going to take alot of education & explaining but i think it's going to be neccesary to compensate for the lost UV sales. Lamp life of 3,000 hrs sounds good to me !!!! As far as college age kids- maybe stressing the blemish & acne healing benefits as opposed to the skin rejuvenating benefits ? Even for younger moms- the ability to fade stretch marks......... education, education, education. It's a challenge for sure...

Rep Power: 22 | Re: Red Light Therapy I'm most likely going to have to spend some money on outside advertising, to get the word out on red light. I've talked to the kids about the acne and skin thing, but to tell you the truth, not a lot of them have bad skin conditions. They have told me the uv helps their condition. I have a catch 22 situation, whereby if I don't have the money to advertise, then I'll have less later. My feeling now is to give it another month and then convert the bed back to uv, right before spring break. Anybody in the market for some new red light lamps? |

The biggest thing personally for us is what it does to scars. It has basically obliterated mine on my hand, my massage therapist has a huge dark one on her shoulder after a horseback incident and after only like 6 sessions it has faded consideribly. C section scars, accidents, stretchmarks etc.. That is my new angle.

Re: Red Light Therapy We were thinking about adding this to our salons last year but decided not to. I personally wasn't sure that it would make as much as what a uv bed would. 3000hrs is an extremely long life but, like Parrot said, if no one is using it then it might take 5-10 years before you even break even! Longer if you take into consideration the loss of a uv bed. We contacted other salons in other parts of the country who had added this just to see what their customer take up was and also to see if it worked. Think the best way to prove to your customers' that it works would be to do 'before' and after 'pics' also ask them if you could should the pics to other customers. The main problem i can see, would be if it didn't work as well as expected then it would be a pretty expensive mistake to make especially when times are hard. Across here, most of the Distrs are trying to push this quite hard, whether or not they've bought a load of lamps they're trying to get rid of i don't know, but i haven't spoke to a single Distr yet who hasn't brought the subject up. Just a quick question to John at URI, can you just change the lamps out? Or do the beds need to be converted as well? Many thanks | |
