Rep Power: 22 | COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness My main competition is a fitness/tanning center that is just up the street from me. It has 10 old Sundash beds. Last year a Snap fitness opened about a mile from me and just last week an Anytime fitness center opened up just a block away from Snap. I know that Snap has a couple of beds and I assume that Anytime has about the same. One would not think of these establishments as true competition, but I think they take a good piece of the pie. Yesterday, I had a couple of young college girls (my former clients) come in and buy some lotion. They told me they were tanning at Anytime fitness. I have also been told the same thing about their tanning at Snap. "Free tanning w/memberbership"! Ya can't get any cheaper then FREE. |

Rep Power: 22 | Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness That's a great idea!! I don't know what I'd do without without you guys and your brilliant ideas. I'm going to do fitness and hooters barbers. They offer tanning, so I'll have a fitness center and a hair salon. |

Snap and Anytime Fitness It seems to me that with all the concern the derms and the govt has about the safety of tanning, they would pass some laws that there has to be someone certified in tanning in the place at all times. Stop the hair salons, the gyms etc from having beds as just an add on. I can't be a fitness training without training, so why should they be able to offer tanning just because? Just thinkin..... |

Rep Power: 35 | Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness Parrot we have some here but not close enough to make any difference. One of my top customers has a membership at anytime fitness. She loves the gym and 24hr access but says the tanning bed is not good at all and it just grosses her out to tan at the gym. You'll get some that like to tan at the gym but I have to agree most won't be able to relax thinking of that sweaty gross guy that just tanned before them. ;) Make all your customers feel special, greet them with a smile....let them know you're happy to see them and make their tanning as pleasant as possible. They won't get this at the gym. |

Rep Power: 27 | Re: COMPETITION? Snap and Anytime Fitness its happening everywhere.. i dont know how these gyms make it ... $10/m or $15/m with tanning.. I get people all the time buying lotion.. and if i have a lotion promotion.. i tell them its for my tannign clients only.. they will pay full price.. I agree.. the county came down on us last summer and are still working on the health regs.. I dont see them going to the gyms.
