Question about selling my salon

Does anyone have experience with... when either buying or selling. Seller pay the buyer for the prorated value of the remaining packages the buyer has to honor.
I can run a report on my software for "unearned package revenue". It says 20k.
Basically the dollar amount for what I "Owe" to my customers.
I mean I can see paying him for any BIG and long term stuff I sold recently, Like a 1000 bucks max. But he wants me to take 20k off the asking price of the note.
Please help.

Re: Question about selling my salon

It's just a given here in California for the buyer to honor the packages.
If you sold a bunch of year or more packages I would drop some off
the price. Whatever you do don't take a note back if they haven't
been in tanning before.

Re: Question about selling my salon

Nothing is typical and everything is negotiable. How bad do you want to sell? How bad do they want to buy?

Re: Question about selling my salon

When I bought my second salon I demanded a portion of the previous months package sales. The previous owner extended a "buy one get one half off" sale. If he had not done that I would not have asked for any reimbursment for prepaid services. I saw in this case a money grab. Tell him the prepaid services are already figured into the price, but you would be happy to raise it $20,000 and give him a $20,000 credit.

Re: Question about selling my salon

Tell em the amount of money you paid in advertising to get these people as solid clients is worth more than that. Treating this as a liability instead of an asset is incorrect.
