Exclamation Clients complaining about "prickley" feeling all over!

We just changed our lamps in our stand-up booth and we have had 2 clients complain that they feel a prickley feeling during their sessions and for a few hours after! Neither client used a heat action lotion and both are avid tanners.

Has anyone heard of this happening? What could be causing it?

Must be higher UVB. They are having a reaction to it.

It could be nothing else right? The lamps are 160watt 3.5's, the same lamps that were in there before, just a different brand. The lamps that they replaced were used for about 550 hours.

I agree, I just think they are not used to the stronger lamps. But we have a total of 8 standups and this is the first complaint i have ever heard like this. It's especially strange that it's happening in the same unit. I relamped the booth next to it with identical lamps and have heard no complaints.

If they are a different brand then they are not the same lamp. Just cut the time back. Buy a 7.0 meter so you can measure med/hr to determine max session time and adjust session times accordingly. Never go by hours with lamps. Hours means nothing, UV output does. Get a full set of meters, learn how to use them, and understand what the data is telling you.

Also, 3.5% of what? Without knowing the total output the percent UVB raqting means nothing and tells you absolutely nothing about what the lamp is putting out.

Read this post

Specifically the part about percent UVB. Learn it and understand it.
