Hey Guys,
Have you ever had a client with really bad body odour? And what did you do about it? We have alost 2000 sqft of space and while he is here and long after the whole salon smells like feet, I'm talking like worst than dirty gym socks. We spray the salon with febreeze but that doesn't seem to work. I'm worried about all the clients coming in after him.

Any ideas?

Be as nice as you can and bring up the issues youre having, i had to do the same with a gentleman who was over the weight restriction on my beds. Its hard to do but if its effecting business your better off losing 1 customer than many. But you might not lose him at all if you can do it nice enough.

Don't tell him he smells per-say

Tell him people were complaining about the scent when he was here and mention that maybe the cologne or deodorant or soap he uses has something in it that reacts with tanning. Tell him you've seen it before and to have him look into it.

He'll know he doesn't shower and that's the problem....but he'll thank you for bringing it to his attention. Then he'll say, you know what, i think it's my body wash....(yeah, like the fact you can't absorb it through osmosis when you're taking a crap and it's 10 feet away from you in the shower)......LOL

We call that dirty butt around here.

After cleaning the bed, we use AG Citrus Cleaner on the bed, and spray some air freshener. For the most part, very little lingers after the extra effort.

I don't say anything to the client.

Have fun with that one I had a lady that made the salon smell like rotten fish could not allow anyone to tan in room for 2 days 2 bottles of lysol and 10 car air fresheners finally cleared up worst smell I have ever smelled in my life. She never came back after that thank God

See, I never could understand this. Everyone wants to get rid of the paying customer but everyone wants to retain the customer that defaults on their EFT or wants a refund or extension nine months into a year contract because they didn't use it.

Some people just stink when tanning and there is not much you can do about it except stop putting them under the Cheetah lamps for 30 minutes.

Just hand him a plug in next time.

I agree with you brian. It's part of doing business with the public. suck it up and clean up after them. period. If they are shitting in a bag or ******* in the room, different story as things are defiled.

Yeah, it must be the thrill of the challenge or something to retain the trouble customer and "break" them. The easy customers always get the short stick it seams.

Body Odour! Yuck.
In the uk we have alot of travellers( Gypsys) who use tanning salons. These people live in caravans and wash about once a week, and use sunbeds 7 days aweek. Now can you imagine what they smell like. One girl inpaticular smells so bad im nearly sick. its like amonia. eyes water etc etc. i have to go in there spray it down. 3-4 times. not to mention what they do in the bins. whats wrong with the damm toilet. god they get me so mad.
