Legislative Alert – December 28, 2009
We want you to be aware that we are off to an excellent start with our campaign to STOP THE TAN TAX. As of Monday morning, over 19,000 individuals have gone to the ITA website to send a message to Congress. Each of the 4,500 industry professionals and 14,500 customers that joined the campaign have generated 3 separate emails to Congress—two to their home state Senators and one to their congressman for a total of over 57,000 emails! This is a good start but our goal is 100,000 by New Year’s Eve and 200,000 by January 8. The timing is important because meetings to work out the final bill are taking place now and the goal is to finish by mid- January.
In addition, the system is set up for us to make a hard copy of each email so our lobbyists can deliver them in person to Congressional offices. If you have not already done so, please join our campaign today. We also ask that you make it a priority for your employees, family members, friends and customers to join this campaign as well.

As you know from our previous Legislative Alerts, we are targeting several states for special attention. These states include:

WE Are adding Connecticut and Delaware to priority list. Please focus special attention on these ten states. For different reasons depending on the state, Senators and Congressmen from these states have the ability to influence what is in the final bill.

If your business is in one of these ten states and you are willing to make some calls, please let us know.

It is sad that only 15% of the industry has responded to this.

The other 85% doesn't have computers yet?
Still using client cards & twist timers behind the counter.

I've sent the link out many times & have also gotten it about 50 times from salons.

Bob, just curious what do you mean by only 5...... I have been doing this since 12/23 and currently have emailed around 400 letters from customers who have come in......i have made it part of my routine when someone signs in to tan....i tell them the situation and forward the letter using the customers name.

By the way Merry xmas and happy new year.

WHen you send it in, they tell you how many.

What numer are you getting ?
