10 Tanners Sunday - tanTALK

So, at what point do you close on Sundays instead of opening from 10am-5pm when 10 customers come in and don't combine $100 in sales?

Not sure. I am closed! Opening Sundays only for the core of the season. While things are defiantly picking up, I probably wont open on Sundays until the start of 2010 and then shut then down again come end of June.

Saturdays are my slowest day though. There have been days where everyone was on a package and had lotion. So no $ at all! Hate those days.

yes im more busy during in the week... Saturday we have a few people but we are also closed on Sundays....

its hit or miss on sundays... people told us be open sunday so we did... but then those people didn't come in to tan and we sat there for 4 hours watching tv... I can do that from the comfort of my own home... and since then we are closed sunday...

^ True that. Thats why I no longer listen to my customers when it comes to hours of operation. Too many times I tried being open later or longer on certain days to see no gains.

Do you think by closing on Sundays it hurts business? Im lucky if I get 10 tanners on Sundays! Try 5! For the last 3 Sundays I have not made a single sell! Are you open Sundays beginning February?

Yep. Friggin rat bastages will always ask.. "When are you going to be open on Sundays again?" then, you do, and those same people never come in on Sundays!!!!

Sundays are the best sales per hour avg. for us of any other day. We do 1 day only, (sundays) B1G1 on vhp 2/$16. and high pressure 2/$32 "limit 3" as well as a 1 day lotion special...ie; yesterday was FREE moistuizer with any accelerator purchase...we had 33 tanners and $990.00 in sales as well as $250.00 in phone / in-house sales. We started this years ago and just caught on. Have to something to MAKE clients want to come in on sundays.
With 3 other salons within 3 mi radius, very happy to open sundays.
