what are some similar beds to the UltraBronz SuperNova? I currently have a 2001 UltraBronz SuperNova bed in my salon. It is a very good bed and all, but it is nearly 8 years old now I am considering upgrading to a newer unit. I was curious as to what other high pressure beds are similar to the Nova? I want to try and get a newer unit that is as similar to the Nova as I can so that my customers currently using the Nova won't notice a major difference other than it being new. Any names of beds, price ranges, etc. is appreciated. thanks |
Re: what are some similar beds to the UltraBronz SuperNova? If its not causing any problems, and clients enjoy it.....keep it! Ultrabronze makes a 950 which replaced the Supernova I think.... There are not many out there that match the Supernova IMO - the bed is fantastic |
Re: what are some similar beds to the UltraBronz SuperNova? Have had supernova and 950 now, love UB equipment...they need to use larger gauge wire though, have burnt through many wires for ignitors , lamp sockets. Am big fan of soltron shark w / mattress. Was told they stopped making them but parts were going to be available. Mayn available out there used with low hours. soltron (ergoline) are great pieces of equipment as well. Not a big fan with changes at UB company. |

I now have an electrician (who is family, so I know he is trustworthy) coming in tonight to check things out. The second time that this happened the breaker that my Nova is on was hot. Now I am no electrician, but something just doesn't add up. On the bed it clearly shows a label saying that the surge power is 100amps and the running power is 75amps, BUT the breaker that the bed is on is only a 80amp breaker. I am hoping that this is simply just an electric issue and nothing actually wrong with the bed itself. I have heard that it is very difficult to fix issues with the Nova beds because they only made them from 98-02. Like I said I just purchased this business and the last thing I want to do is already have to replace my most expensive piece of equipment in the salon! any ideas or help is very much appreciated. |
Re: what are some similar beds to the UltraBronz SuperNova? There's your problem. Breaker is too small. |
Re: what are some similar beds to the UltraBronz SuperNova? there is also the ub 924. which came out before the 950., we have one we are selling, if you are interedted. |
Re: what are some similar beds to the UltraBronz SuperNova? I'm glad you like the 921 Supernova bed, I was the Project Design Manager for that bed. We actually made the first Supernova units in late 1997. The bed electrically is not that much different from the preceding 818 Eclipse unit. Let me know if you have any specific questions. |

A short but not so funny (well it's funny to me) story about the previous owner of the salon I just took over. One of the two air-conditioning units for this salon went bad so he got quotes to replace the bad unit. He didn't want to pay the $5000 he was quoted so he decided at $2000 he'd purchase and install the unit himself. Not being an electrician he just hooked it up to the existing wires from the old unit. The old unit being a 40 amp unit versus the new unit at 20 amps. This lasted him all of one and a half years before the unit burned up. Me, being a licenced journeyman electrician, checked this out for him when he still owned this business and found out he had burned up the wire and going from the panel to the air-conditioning unit as well as the a/c unit itself. Had he of just changed the breaker to a 20 amp he could have still used the existing wire being that it was larger then needed but now there's a fairly new burned out a/c unit sitting on the rooftop that I will need to get fixed. I can do the electrical but I'm no HVAC repair guy. |
