Unhappy Tingles on the acrylics???

Tonight, we had a girl come in and tan in our most popular bed. When she came out, her skin was tingling and red. She did not use a hot lotion. As far as I know, the last person that used a hot in that bed was 4 people before her, so that bed had already been cleaned 4 times before she came in.

Has anyone else ever had this happen? We are new owners and we are cleaning the beds exactly as the old owners taught us to do. I would prefer this to not happen again. Is there something special we can do to "extra" clean a bed after a tingle user?

BTW, none of the other people that used the bed had this problem...

I'm at a loss on what more we can do to clean.

Re: Tingles on the acrylics???

Sure she did not use a tingle? If she did not her skin would ONLY be red where it was in contact with the acrylic. So back of thighs for example. Also 4 sessions later nothing should be left on there.

What are you using for a sanitizer. What are you using to wipe it up, paper towel or cloth? How are you cleaning exactly.

Someone said they have a bottle of vinegar they use for cleaning after tingle. I have yet to try it.

Re: Tingles on the acrylics???

We use AG cleaner/disinfectant/sanitizer.

This is how we clean a bed. We spray it down and let it sit for about a min. Then we wipe down the bed. We then use a dry rag to go back over the bed to make sure that we get it completely dry.

I asked her if she used a tingle and she said no. She did have contact spots. She apparently turns over while she tans because she had red spots on the back of her calves and the front of her thighs. She also had it on her bottom (she told me that, I didn't actually SEE it there) and on her shoulder blades and chest. The tops of her arms probably were the worst.

In 3 months we've never had a problem with this so I don't think it's in our cleaning.

Re: Tingles on the acrylics???

Has she tanned there before? Maybe a reaction to the sanitizer itself?

Re: Tingles on the acrylics???

We clean any bed that has had a client use tingle first with the bed cleaner, then we use windex and then we use the bed cleaner again. We mark all clients screens who use tingles so that the employees know to do the extra cleaning.

Re: Tingles on the acrylics???

She's been tanning here for about a year now.

I thought that using windex on the acrylics was a bad thing???

I was thinking about posting signs in the rooms advising clients to let the employees know if they are using a tingle so that they can properly clean the beds or something. I'm not sure how to word it.

According to Brian the Sun Doctor it is fine for acrylics. You just want to make sure that after the windex you use the sanitizer again so that you don't have any residue that would irritate the next clients skin.

Re: Tingles on the acrylics???

I never used anything besides bed cleaner and never had this problem. However if the beds surface is the least bit damp people will have a really bad skin reaction. The only other possiblity is that she tried a new lotion and was allergic to something in it! Lots of people are allergic to the weirdest things. I have had several people allergic to hemp, or other single ingredients in lotions!!
