Rep Power: 0 | Salon decor Hi! My husband and I are in the process of renovating a building to move our salon to. We are stumped on the overall color scheme to go with. We have 5 rooms, a nice waiting room that will have a cherry fireplace and a beautiful multi colored rug on the floor. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to post some pics of their salons. We are leaning towards an asian inspired theme and are throwing around painting the waiting room and hallways a metallic gold color then use rich vibrant colors in the rooms. Our flooring will be wood laminate as we cannot do tile (cost factor). I have seen some pics previously of some beautiful salons posted here and cannot seem to locate them. We are very excited as I took over an existing salon in February 2009, then we purchased a commercial building in August 2009 and should be done with renovations around January (doing all the work ourselves with the exception of elec and heating/cooling). I plan on doing an HUGE grand opening as we live in a small town and have heard the salon moving is the 'talk of the town'..good for word of mouth. I want to really ensure the salon looks upscale and inviting. Any suggestions are welcomed as we are so excited about moving from our little place into a much more open and inviting space! Thanks in advance to anyone who shares pics! Have a good night - Diane Last edited by Brian Oshman; 10-31-2009 at 10:55 PM. Reason: Parafuquingraphs! |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Salon decor Build your colors around the floor color. Metallic gold will not go with wood flooring. Stay with neutral earthy colors. Upscale trim and moldings. Wood is a natural resource, (even though it is laminate flooring, the pattern is natural) so compliment it with colors that go with it and the cherry fireplace. Does the flooring match that? Get an electric log for the fireplace. Do not expect to be lighting that up for real. You won't need heat with the beds running. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Salon decor Thanks Brian, The flooring does match the cherry wood fireplace. After putting some colors up on the walls the metallic gold is out :). It appears we are going with earthy greens, purples, tans, reds, and oranges. We have a log for the fireplace and will be using it for 'mood setting' only, not for heating. Thanks again for your input. Quote:
