I am new here and feel that Fantasy Tan talk should absolutely go on. We (us newbies) come here for guidance, so honest truths are important. In addition, I think I read a post that stated that stand alone airbrush business don't really exist. While my business is not just airbrush, I did earn approx $90,000 from March thru July with airbrushing (1 artist), so I think it could and will eventually stand alone. I know I am thinking about just opening an airbrushing boutique on the other side of town. I don't however, bash UV tanning, I simply sell the client what they want!

Hi Eileen,
Should I reply here? Not sure it's on right topic and don't want to upset anyone as I see some tempers flare around here, but here goes... I charge $65 per spray and do give discounts for multiple sprays. I also charge $139 per month (now $149 for this spring) for draft clients that receive one spray per week. Some don't even come in for their sprays, those sprays are forfeited unless due to unfortunate circumstances. Additionally, I sell products along with as many sprays as possible. I just recalculated the numbers and see I was a tad off, I actually earned $86,900 in those months. Do you think other airbrush artists would be interested in learning how I do this? I started off very very small maybe 2-3 sprays per day just trying to get everyone I could talk into it to just do their legs..lol. I will be removing my VersaSpa soon in order to put another artist into that room. If anyone is interested it is for sale!

Thanks for the update. I wasn't in the industry back then, but now knowing what I know, I would never consider fantasy tan. Any other players should we know about? Or is the list too long <g>
