Question Summer Specials?

I'm thinking of running a summer special...a choice of unlimited tanning for $100 p/m for 3 months any bed in the salon and including the mystic at once a week per month with an enrollment fee of $29.99 or 5 months at $89 p/m ,same deal for mystic as the 3 month plan, no enrollment fee. The 5 months is basically to carry us over into the slow winter months. I know the people in my area would be willing to pay that as many of them have EFT packages costing $159 a month. I'm also thinking about doing packet deals on our slow days (tuesdays and wednesdays). I'm new to all of this and my salon has basic packages and EFTs but I'd really like to boost our sales up and keep it steady during the slow months. Does this sound like a good idea? Any suggestions?

Re: Summer Specials?

I am running packet deals on Sundays, 25% off regular prices. And we dont have an enrollment fee, but we dont spray either. I bought the 121 new ways to market from my distributor and have gotton some really good ideas from there.

MsTanNJ...Why would you want your bread and butter EFT folks to change to a limited time offering? Are you saying they leave anyway and you want to tempt them to stay? Because if they are EFT paying $159.00 per month I would not touch them with a ten foot pole if they are riding the EFT train off season. I am just stunned that folks are paying that a month for tanning...wow!

Re: Summer Specials?

one of the big chains is offering a great promo right now. Their EFT clients can up grade for 3 months 1 or 2 levels from were they are now. A level one can upgrade to level 3 and a 3 to a 5 for example for a flat rate in addtion to their monthly eft. One level upgrade in $39.00 flat fee (i think) or 2 levels for $59.00. Its a great way to increase revenue, and keep people coming over the next 3 months. I just wish I would of thought of it!

Re: Summer Specials?

if you notice a drastic change in attendance once slow season starts. then i wouldnt recommend a discount.. chances are it will just cost you money...the majority of people tanning during slow season are going to come regardless..low prices wont bring in enough business to make up what you loose from your regular slow season tanners who would have paid full price anyway....JUST ADD MORE TANS AT THE SAME PRICE.!

Re: Summer Specials?

Top2BTMtan...I did something along the same lines one year. If you were active member EFT through off season then we had a "Winter Pass" you could purchase on top of your monthly membership. The winter pass cost $80.00 and was good for Nov, Dec and Jan and you could tan in any bed we had through those months. So in addition to the existing monthly EFT for a regular membership we collect, we had over 100 people purchase the "Winter Pass." It was along the same lines as a ski pass. We found that even though they purchased it very few people were heavy users of it. You can set a code in HELIOS for the winter pass and have it set in the second membership box and have the dates set to turn on and off when it expires and the regular membership will remain. It also got a lot of people used to the upgrade beds so they rolled over in Feb to the upgraded membership. That was a nice bit of cash to get for off season.
