Rep Power: 0 | Explanation please Is there anything out there that clearly states that the lower the minutes the stronger the bed? I have people coming in here paying the cheapest price and think that the longer the minutes the better the tan... I try to explain to them the shorter the minutes the stronger the tan and they just look at me like I'm from outer space... How do I convince them of this? Any advice is appreciated... Thanks |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Explanation please We do explain everything that was stated here and they still do not understand... Our lowest bed is 15 minutes and its 36/ 140w lamps and 3 500w facials... Our most powerful bed is our stand up which is 60 lamps at 200w... They still just don't understand... They just automatically go for the cheapest and longest minutes LOL... They look at me like I'm lying to them... |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Explanation please It just depends on your equiptment mix. I think it is so important to make all of your beds distinctly different in both power/performance and the overall look. Never make your "base" bed too much of a performer or your clients wont feel the need to move up. 15 minutes in a bed with 3/500s and 36/140's is a level 2/3 in most salons. You might be offering too good of a bed inexpensively to begin with if they stick at that level without upgrading. Heck I probably would for level 1 pricing! I personally keep 100/120 watt beds as level 1's/ no FT - and ideally 20 minutes long. If clients see the next level of tanning as bigger, faster, fancier and stronger...they will see the benefit for a reduction in time (12-15 minutes)...and justify the step in bulb strength. It depends on your market and your competition. |

Re: Explanation please I also talk about the heavier UVA bronzing in the upgrades as opposed to the higher UVB/less UVA bronzing that keeps you tan but a bit "pink." And in peak season there are typically less wait time for upgrade beds...so another perk ;) Last edited by CrystalSS; 04-14-2009 at 10:11 PM. | |
