Re: Time it takes to clean a bed

We've actually had one of our local competitors start making their customers clean their own beds! We actually have large towels that we will fold a few times into a thick square. We use it once for one bed and then use the other side (which is completely dry b/c of the towel thickness) for another bed. We are actually the cleanest place in town. I'd love to use a new towel for every bed and then use a hot steamed towel to clean up any remaining residue like Raydiant Tan... but seriously I'd have to increase my prices like 30% just to make up for the extra towels I'd need not to mention the time it'd take to wash, dry and fold them. There's clean and then there is just germaphobic people.
I know that everyone thinks you "catch" these dieseases, but they only flourish in places where they can (i.e. immune compromised people). If I go to the dump and find a lot of flies I don't blame the flies for the trash. THe trash (a sick person w/ weak immune system) allowed the flies to reproduce.

Re: Time it takes to clean a bed

Good idea EagleTan, using gloves to clean a bed! Especially when you're doing the weekly overall job.
In my salon my clients clean the bed. They go into it clean and leave it that way. It requires monitoring of course and now and then I might have to go over it again but it saves me time and energy.
When a person joins my salon I give them an orientation on tanning and on cleaning the bed. Their first tan is FREE with a trial product. This gives them the opportunity to salve their curiosity about tanning and to decide on investing in tanning for the long term. Because I'm in a rural area it's worked very well for me and I get these clients annually. They bring me souvenirs from their trips which I proudly display and their body tans are walking advertisements for my shop.

Re: Time it takes to clean a bed

Cleaning ones own bed with disposable items is the only sanitary way to clean a laydown bed period.

This is the definition of a unsanitary condition!

Re: Time it takes to clean a bed

I use a clean towel for every time a bed is dirty. Right now I'm using about 10 towels a day. Really isn't a problem at all. lol

Re: Time it takes to clean a bed

We use a new towel for each dirty bed AND our bed cleaning towels are different colors than the towels our clients use.

Reusable towels are NOT sanitary! After they have wiped up others people's bodily fluids 40-50 times they are contaminated, and washing them does not change that. Hospitals do not reuse cleaning materials.
