Rep Power: 17 | Anyone do a "tan till the end of the year" special? I opened in March, and have had a great few months of tanning, I have built up a good amount of regular tanners, and i am just starting to see them slowly filter back out. I talked with someone today who said, now is about the time when the cost of tanning isnt quite as important (meaning that during the summer he can justify spending what he does spend and now thats summers about over he cant justify it) I mentioned that i have been thinking about doing a "tan till the end of the year" special and after he tanned he stopped and asked what that would cost, i told him i would get back to him. Does anyone do this type of special?? Is it too early to try something like this? If i do try this, will i be stuck doing this every year? What type of pricing do you or would you do for this? |

Rep Power: 16 | Re: Anyone do a "tan till the end of the year" special? I plan on it but starting at the end of September when my current specials run out. I'll probably do what Jim has and 60 days gets an additional 30 free - so until the end of the year. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Anyone do a "tan till the end of the year" special? I started 'Tan til' 1/1/09 $119($99 if paid w/cash or ck) months ago in my base bed. I also offer 'Free Tanning' sessions in my highest bed w/ purchase of lotion $40 & up. I encourage upgrades & lotions. This way they spend more throughout the package. It works, but only if LOTS of people buy it. You need to market the crap out of it to make any money. I know a salon in TENN that offers $149 tan til' pkg & only $99 if you tan from 9-2pm-have to pay upgrade fee from 2-close. She's been doing in for the last few years. You NEVER have to keep offering any certain special more than once-that's why it's a special & not on your price list. I'm getting ready to change mine as the students are coming back & it's getting later in the year-$99 may be too much $$ pretty soon. Hope this helps. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Anyone do a "tan till the end of the year" special? confused, why would you offer free tanning that will fall in december? isn't that a good time of year for you? do something that will give that free month in november (worse time) so they will still want to tan and have to buy in december. |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: Anyone do a "tan till the end of the year" special? the reason i initially wanted to do this is bc im starting to see some of my regular clients lose interest in tanning recently....ive asked a few why, and they say its bc now that summer is over they dont need to stay as tan....or that the money spent on tanning over the summer is justifiable (spelling?) but not so much as now... Im trying to get my clients to gap this time from now until november.... so i figure tanning until the end of the year would cover all the major holidays and then id be set for now... |

Rep Power: 17 | Re: Anyone do a "tan till the end of the year" special? tan until 2009.. and EFT's are my dilemmas.. Am I discounting sales that would have happened at a normal price? tan until 2009 for $150.. thats about 4 months.. at about $37.50 per month on all beds EFT--- $30 per month off of a normal price of $55... am I just taking money off of purchases from those year round tanners anyway? |
