Club, this is how I'd do it: Monthly EFT - $49.99/mo unlimited usage on all entry level units and stand-ups *nominal usage fees on all upgrades (high speed, HP combo units, 360 HP units, spray booths/air-gun spray services, "special lamp" (i.e. photo-rejuvenation) units) Benefits - Session reservation on any unit/level (2 hour advance notice required!), deep discounts on lotions and other retail products, express check-in on walk-in visits, lotion and goggle storage, additional "prep" time (in regards to the session delay), "comps" for qualified referrals A true V.I.P. program should only apply to less than 20% of your overall clientelle on average I'd expect. These are the people that have the money and will pay it to you for the status and the "convenience" a program such as this offers. Sure, a program like this presents certain logistical problems for some salons, and may not be a profitable program. But I believe it can be an extremely useful "tool" to many salons for increasing cash flow and drawing in more of the "whales" in the local tanning market; PLUS, rich people didn't get rich by paying regular price for anything! hehe I just put this together off the top of my head. If you try and it doesn't work for you, you can't sue me or the site! hehe However, if you do try it, and it does make all of your wildest dreams come true then I'm glad I was able to be of some help to you! Good luck out there! Hope this helps! Happy holidays! -Belvy

Rep Power: 68 | Re: V.I.P. Members No, not really. Americans will pay $20 a month for almost anything ... even things they don't really need, as long as it's convenient for them, and they perceive "value". EFT is the trend right now in tanning, largely thanks to Robbie. I still have mixed feelings about the whole EFT and "how low can you go" covercharge strategy ... "when in Rome" I guess .. A great salesman once told me: "The more ways you can give your prospect to pay for what you're selling, the more you'll sell." I've never forgotten that. I hope you understand what she meant by that. And I hope you employ that philosophy to your advantage. I also, as always, hope this helped you. Good luck! Happy holidays! -Belvy

The benefits you currently have listed would not justify $49.99, IMO. I would be pretty upset if I was standing in a line of 10 people and someone came walking in the door and the employee let that person cut in line to be checked in before me. I think you could add X amount of complimentary upgrading per month, a complimentary spray after each 3 month consecutive period, etc. Do you plan to have a minimum commitment period? It would be a good idea to tweak, keep playing with it and present to us the finished idea. | |
