Question Input on the Harmful Chemicals in our disinfectants!?

Just wondering if any of you inform your employees about breathing in harmful chemicals from the disinfectants. If so, what is it that you tell them; simply not to breath it in or do you in fact have a special way of cleaning your tanning beds & avoiding the chemicals that are settling around you once you have sprayed...Im just really concerned of the long term effect of being around these types of chemicals, touching them routinely etc...It'd be great to hear what you all think =)

thanks!!

What the h*ll are you guys huffin over there???

You should be more worried about the door handle at the mall, then a little "overspray" from cleaning the beds!

Well, what are you using? The stuff I use is for hospital use. It is required to have no harmful effects even while still in liquid concentrate form.

I know really! You jerkclowns don't even care about your tanners safety! Those chemicals are known to cause all kinds of problems so my baby sister says. Just use warm water and a squeegee.

I like to spray down the beds and immediately stick my head in there an take a good wiff....you know, absorb the good stuff.lol

Seriously,as long as your not inhaling the vapor mist, you will be fine.My only gripe is i go through a ton of lotion because the chemicals dry your skin out something fierce.

Re: Input on the Harmful Chemicals in our disinfectants!?

i didnt think this subject would be such a joke. i use australian gold ph disinfectant and there are a million warnings on the label for inhaling this stuff, getting it on your clothes, hands etc. i only brought this up to see if anyone ever thinks about it. and from the responses, no one does.

Re: Input on the Harmful Chemicals in our disinfectants!?

Envision, we are just messing around with you.

I use the same cleaner you do, and have been for years with no problems. (well, besides the extra nipple I grew )

The cleaner is diluted down when you mix it with water and when applied to the bed via a spray bottle, the mist is not super fine as to cause it to become airborne.

This is how we do it at my salon....

Collect towel & goggles from room.
Spray down bed.
Toss towel in hamper & goggle in tank.
Grab new towel, goggle, & rag.
Walk back to room, wipe down bed.

All this is done in about a min and a half.

The reason we do it this way, is so the cleaner sits on the bed for about 30 to 45 seconds before we wipe it off.

So, there should be no vapers flying around in the room when you are spraying down the beds other then the scent of the cleaner.
