Need Advice - Consolidating Salons Currently have two tanning salons listed with Realtor. If salons do not sell by January, we will have to consolidate to one location. The economic crisis has substantially affected our small town and its small businesses. Any advice/tips from salon owners who have previously gone thru a consolidation of their salons would be greatly appreciated. Not sure what all is going to happen, but want to be as prepared as possible. Thank you in advance for your help and support!

Re: Need Advice - Consolidating Salons The salons are only a couple miles apart. One is open from 10am - 5pm and the other that is next to a university campus is open from 10am - 9pm M-F. Both salons are open Sat. and only the campus salon on Sunday. Consolidating salons isn't an easy task with moving beds, selling equip., having to get out of a lease, what to do with decor items, etc. I'm sure there are salon owners that have gone thru this process and know what to do and what not to do. I am looking for their advice. Now is the time to sell as busy season is just around the corner. A new owner has plenty of time to get set up and established before we hit busy season. We are selling due to health reasons. I can no longer physically work at the salons. We have to sell so that I can go back to work outside of the salons and take myself off of payroll. If the salons do not sell by mid-January we will have to consolidate to one, so there is less managing and overhead involved.

I would take the best beds and put them all in one. trade in the extra beds for one kick *** new bed, raise prices and have a super great 2009. all the decor and extras, sell it on ebay or at a flea market. |

Just make sure you have a confidentiality agreement to email or fax to them before divulging toooo much information. I always tried to set up a meeting to have them sign and go take a look at the place and then release the paperwork. If they normally took the time to meet with me they were fairly serious. Good luck with the sale and I hope the health issues get better for you.
